The board is planning to release the result of WBTET 2017 before Durga Puja.
Sources said that the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) may release the result of West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) 2017 exam in the last week of this month. Due to various reasons the exam could not be conducted on time. Around 2 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam held on January 31, 2021. The board had released the WB TET Answer Key 2017 on 25th August on its official website (www.wbbpe.org). Candidates were allowed to raise objections against the answer key. until 2 september
Later, WBBPE uploaded the correct answer key incorporating changes based on the responses and objections of the candidates. WBBPE chairman Manik Bhattacharya had earlier said that the state board had received over 1,500 responses on the answer key uploaded on the website on August 25. Taking into account the answers, the board-appointed experts modified the answers to six questions. He said that the final answer key has been uploaded for evaluation.
Bhattacharya said that even after the release of the final answer keys, there was some confusion. There were some questions for which two options given by the candidates were correct. Therefore, it was decided to award marks to those candidates who have ticked any one of the correct two answers. He said that transparency has been ensured in all the process of examination.
Earlier, Bhattacharya had said that the board is planning to publish the WB TET result before the puja. Durga Puja 2021 will start in the second week of October.
According to sources, the officials of the School Education Department told that the permission of the Election Commission is necessary to release the results in the last week of this month. By-elections will be held on September 30 for the three vacant seats in the assembly.
