  • Brian Lara Stadium to host the first T20 match on Friday
  • India has won 13 out of 20 T20 Internationals against West Indies
  • Both the teams will enter the games on the basis of their previous series win.

After a competitive ODI series, India and West Indies will face each other in a five-match T20I series. The inaugural game is scheduled to take place on Friday, 29 July at the Brian Lara Stadium, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Despite being given a fair chance of winning the first two matches of the series, the hosts went down 0-3 in the ODIs. However, T20Is are expected to be a completely different ballgame. Both the teams will go into the matches after winning their respective previous series.

While Rohit Sharma’s India beat England 2-1, the Caribbean team beat Bangladesh 2-0. In 20 matches, West Indies defeated India in only six matches, while losing 13. It remains to be seen whether the home team beats the Men in Blue.

How will the weather be?

The final ODI at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad was interrupted by rain. But this will not happen in the T20 series opener. There is no chance of rain throughout the day. Only 5% will be cloudy.

Temperatures will hover around 22°C with humidity in the high 60s. The wind will blow at a speed of 22 km/h, which will make the conditions even more pleasant.

There will be some dew, but it’s not likely to play much of a role during the match. Overall, a smooth match can be expected on Friday between both the strong teams.
