New Delhi:

Kajol almost had us all with her cryptic Instagram post that she shared on Friday morning. The one that she captioned: “Facing one of the toughest trials of my life.” After a couple of hours (and a lot of speculation), the actress announced that she was actually referring to her new web-series titled The Trial – Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha. On Friday evening, the actress shared her first look from the show on Twitter and she wrote, “The tougher the trial, the harder you come back! Catch the trailer for my courtroom drama Hotstar Specials The Trial – Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha on June 12th. Coming soon only on Disney+Hotstar.”

On Friday morning, the actress announced that she is taking a break from social media and deleted all her existing posts from Instagram. Turns out, it was a promotional strategy for her upcoming web-series that happens to be a Hindi adaptation of the American courtroom drama The Good Wife.

In terms of work, Kajol was last seen in Salaam Venky, co-starring Vishal Jethwa and Aamir Khan (in a cameo appearance). The film was directed by Revathy and it released last year. The actress will next be seen in Netflix’s anthology film Lust Stories 2. Kajol is best-known for performances in hits as well critically acclaimed films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, Baazigar, Gupt, Dushman, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name Is Khan, to name a few.

In the recent years, the actress has starred in the National Award winning Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, co-starring husband Ajay Devgn and actor Saif Ali Khan. She also featured in the Netflix film Tribhanga, which marked her digital debut. Produced by Ajay Devgn, Tribhanga was directed by Renuka Sahane and it also starred Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar.
