WhatsApp introduced 21 new emoji for these users: Report

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is currently testing 21 new emoji for Android beta users. WABetaInfo reports that users no longer need to download a separate keyboard to send these emoji, as they can now be sent directly from the official WhatsApp keyboard. These new emoji are part of the latest Unicode 15.0 update.

first, the 21 new emoji were not yet visible on the official WhatsApp keyboard as they were still under development. However, users can still send them using the alternate keyboard.

Additionally, the report mentions that the addition of the new emoji resolves a previous issue where users could receive emoji but were unable to send them without using a workaround.

Reportedly, some users can now access the new emoji from the official whatsapp keyboardStarting today, regardless of which version of the app they’re using.

The report further suggested that keeping the WhatsApp app updated with the latest version is still advised to improve the chances of one’s account being enabled for the new emoji.

Meanwhile, owned by instant messaging platform meta, according to a report, is working on a feature called “silence unknown callers”. The feature will enable users to silence calls from unknown numbers while still displaying them in the notification center and call list.

WABetaInfo reports that the “Silence Unknown Callers” feature is currently being developed for the Android beta version of WhatsApp. Along with reducing interruptions, this feature can help users avoid spam calls, making it even more beneficial.

As per the report, users can access the toggle for the “Silence unknown callers” feature in the app settings. Once activated, incoming calls from unknown numbers will be muted, but will still appear in the Notification Center and Call list.
