WhatsApp will let group admins limit this feature, which means there will be a new privacy setting that allows group admins to toggle off the ability to keep disappearing messages.
Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to make messages disappear even after they are finished and disappear from your chats. WhatsApp is said to be rolling out a new “Kept Messages” section that will store all the missing messages the user wants to hold.
According to a report by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, disappearing messages will be stored in a new section called ‘Kept Messages’, which will be available to everyone in the conversation. Currently, there is no way to store messages in a vanishing chat and users cannot even star messages in a vanishing chat. However, the Kept Messages feature is set to change this and users can “keep” a message, which will go to a “Kept Message” section, such as an archive or bookmark.

The feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo on the iOS version and is now moving to the Android beta version, which suggests that a public release may be on the cards. The tipster claims that in the coming days, Android beta version 2.22.16.12 is going to get a new feature, after which WhatsApp can make it official for everyone.
