WhatsApp is offering a new incentive for users to visit its platform for payments. Meta-owned instant messaging platform is offering ₹51 cashback to select users. The new offer is currently being offered only for Android beta testers.
On Android beta version 2.21.20.3, users are getting a new banner promoting the new offer. Banner says “give cash, get ₹51 back.” Hopefully WhatsApp will roll out the offer for stable users soon.
How cashback offer works
WhatsApp has not set any minimum amount for the offer. This means that users paying Re 1 will also be eligible for cashback ₹51.
While there is no minimum amount stipulated for the offer, the user will get cashback only five times. This means, overall, the user will be able to achieve ₹255 in cashback using this offer.
Conditions
WhatsApp has not put much restrictions on the offer. However, to take advantage of this, the user has to send money to five different accounts. The money will be credited to the user’s account immediately after the eligible payment.
WhatsApp is planning to compete with its competitors like Google Pay with new offers. In the early days of launch, Google issued similar rewards for its users. The company introduced scratch cards that can offer cashback up to maximum ₹1000. The company gradually moved out of the cashback model and now offers discounts and coupons on certain services.
