Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp iOS is working on a new message reaction feature for users. This feature has been in the works for the past few months and will allow users to react to messages with only emoji. Facebook Messenger or instagram, A report now states that the message reaction is now nearing its public launch. WABetaInfo report states that WhatsApp beta version 22.2.72 iOS Introduced new settings to manage notifications for responses, however it is not possible to react to messages at this time.

Previously, WABetaInfo was able to preview this option in Settings, but now WhatsApp is rolling it out to all iOS beta testers. Along with the ability to enable or disable notifications for messages and group chats, the app will let users choose whether or not to receive notifications for responses. WABetaInfo says that WhatsApp will release this feature very soon. Now, even though beta testers aren’t currently able to react to messages, the option to choose whether they want to receive notifications is a big sign toward a soon-to-be-launched feature.

According to WABetaInfo, users will be able to react to specific messages at once and the responses are limited to six emoji – eg, love (heart), laughter, surprise, sadness and thank you. As of now, it is not clear whether WhatsApp will provide any other emoji as a response.

Users will be able to see all reactions to a message in two separate tabs – “All” and the specific emoji used. This means you’ll be able to click on the emoji in the group chat to see everyone who reacted to a message.

It is not known when this feature will be available for end users including Android. WhatsApp is about to bring a bunch of other features to both Android And iOS users to make the app more personal and intuitive.
