WhatsApp revises media visibility for disappearing text, tests blur tool for Android

WhatsApp keeps updating itself to make changes or remove something. Before being rolled out, the instant messaging app offers it to some beta users to test compatibility before finally releasing it. WhatsApp does this for both Android and iOS users. In a latest development, WhatsApp is adding features for missing messages as well as the drawing editor for Android.

In this case, pictures, videos and GIFs are never automatically saved to your Camera Roll when the General setting is enabled.”

You can still manually save media in a disappearing chat: On some versions of Android some users already have the option to save media manually. On WhatsApp for iOS, you can save media as you normally would.

He said the changes have been rolled out to all users on the beta and public builds and should be visible within 24 hours.

In another update, new drawing tools have been placed at the bottom of the screen: the new Pencil and Blur tools. The Blur tool was a specialized tool implemented on WhatsApp for iOS, but was eventually implemented on WhatsApp for Android as well, WABetaInfo noted.

He added that if you install the latest beta from the Play Store you can start using the new drawing tools, but if you don’t see the new drawing editor it means it’s not ready for your WhatsApp account.
