WhatsApp is planning to drop support for iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C in the coming months. This is not a panic situation but natural. With the changing world and its threats, the companies as a whole keep updating themselves to implement new changes to protect and enhance the privacy of users. Similarly, the Meta-owned instant messaging app has announced the withdrawal of support for older versions of iOS running inside older iPhones.

After this update many WhatsApp The in-app features may not be available to iPhone users around the world, only those still using dated iOS versions. These features may be Reactions or Payments but we do not know which of all features will be affected by this change. WhatsApp does this to keep them updated along with the Android ecosystem.

According to WhatsApp tracker, WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will stop supporting the above iphone Starting on 24 October 2022, that is five months ahead. Devices running iOS 10 and iOS 11 will not be able to work properly with all the features after that. The lowest supporting base will be iOS 12 and above to fully enjoy the features of WhatsApp.

Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C are not compatible with iOS 12 and hence these users will not be able to use WhatsApp as the new changes start rolling in. WhatsApp simply means upgrading the security of chats and other in-app features.
