India criticized the World Health Organization (WHO) over the methodology adopted to estimate the number of Kovid-19 deaths. India questioned the various criteria applied to different groups of countries to measure mortality during the pandemic. “India’s basic objection lies not with the outcome (whatever it may be), but with the methodology adopted for it,” the health ministry said. If the model adopted is accurate and reliable, “it should be certified by running it for all Tier I countries and if the result of such an exercise can be shared with all Member States”.
