‘Why not survey of missionary and RSS schools?’: Asaduddin Owaisi on survey of madrassas in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand

DehradunAIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned the decision of the UP and Uttarakhand governments to conduct a survey of all madrassas in the two BJP-ruled states.

The Hyderabad AIMIM MP has alleged that the survey is “targeted against the Muslim community” in the two BJP-ruled states. He also claimed that surveying unaided madrassas is a targeted survey and is false.

“This is a targeted survey against the Muslim community. There should be a survey of private schools, missionary schools, government schools and RSS schools. Surveying unaided madrasas is a targeted survey and wrong,” the AIMIM chief said.

The AIMIM leader’s remarks came after Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed on Tuesday that his government would conduct a survey of all madrasas in the state.

Survey of all madrasas will also be done in Uttarakhand. Many types of things keep coming up from time to time, so it is very important to conduct a proper survey of madrasas in one go. We will get them surveyed, these institutions will also be fine. For us, therefore the survey is very important,” CM Dhami said as per ANI.

Dhami also announced the release of the recruitment calendar by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission in a week. CM said, “All our candidates who are going to appear in the examinations should get an opportunity to appear in the examinations within the time limit, so their time should not be wasted, so we have decided that within a week the public Service Commission will release the recruitment calendar.”

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government also announced to conduct a survey to find out information about the number of students, teachers, curriculum and its affiliation with any non-government organization in unrecognized madrassas. Survey of all unrecognized madrasas has started in Uttar Pradesh from today.
