‘Will Miss Everything’: Roy Krishna’s emotional note on leaving Mohun Bagan

Speculations of Roy Krishna leaving ATK Mohun Bagan have come true as the ace player announced the end of his association with the prestigious club. The star forward has left the team after playing two seasons in Mohun Bagan’s jersey. The official announcement was made by Mohun Bagan Club on June 3 and the very next day, Roy Krishna wrote an emotional farewell note on his social media handle.

Roy Krishna wrote on Twitter: “I can’t put into words how I feel.” “But I want to thank everyone – the club, fans and well wishers. For your unconditional love on and off the field. My family and I really appreciate all you have done for us. We have lost everything.” But we will cherish the memories.”

Roy Krishna started his journey in ISL in 2019-20. He became the top scorer in his first season, scoring 15 goals to win his third ISL. In the next season, Krishna’s association with the Green-Maroon club began. He again became the league’s top scorer with 14 goals. Although Mohun Bagan reached the final, they could not win the title.

However, in the last season, Krishna was not in good form and could not give his best due to injury. But now the question is where will Roy Krishna play? Bangalore FC could be his first choice to play in India. Reportedly, he also has offers from FC Goa and East Bengal club. However, his chances of playing in India are less. His daughter is very young and he lost his father few days back. His family wants him to pursue his career in Australia.

However, Roy Krishna is yet to say anything about his future plans. Reports said that Mohun Bagan wanted to retain him but Roy Krishna’s condition was a four-month contract, which means he would only play for the ISL.

However, the club is aiming for the Kolkata League and Durand Cup next year and therefore needed a player for a longer duration and hence this did not work out.
