Windows: Now you can convert your Windows 11 taskbar into a macOS-like dock – Times of India

few months ago, Microsoft started rolling out windows 11 operating system for users. The new OS comes with a refreshed look and more apps. One of the most noticeable changes in windows 11 is the taskbar, which now has icons located in the center as seen in the Dock Mac OS, Now, a third-party tool actually allows users to get a macOS-like dock on Windows 11 by simply squeezing the taskbar.
TaskbarXi app adds additional customization options to the taskbar and it is still in the early stages of development. According to a report by XDADevelopers, the app is built as a successor to the TaskbarX app for Windows 10. As per the report, users can minimize the taskbar on Windows 11 to a compact dock using the app. The Dock also expands back to full size when any window is maximized.
The report further mentions that the tool supports multiple monitors and it can split the taskbar into left and right panes. As of now, the app cannot change the background style and color of the taskbar and you cannot change the taskbar at the top of your screen either.
Microsoft is reportedly planning to add support for third-party widgets in Windows 11 version 22H2. Support for third party widgets was first introduced by the company in 2007 with the launch of Windows Vista and later support was added in Windows 7 as well. Windows Latest’s report further mentions that support for third-party widgets will also allow users. To customize the widget panel to their liking. Currently, the OS does not support third-party widgets and also does not allow users to pin widgets to the desktop.
