A woman was injured in an acid attack by her alleged lover at KG Nagar hamlet in Lakkaram village of Utnoor mandal of Adilabad district on Thursday.
Police said that at around 7 am, the 38-year-old victim was sweeping outside her house when the accused came and threw acid on her to clean the bathroom. Acid fell on his arms and legs, resulting in minor injuries and he was immediately rushed to Government Hospital, Utnoor for medical assistance, where his condition is stable.
According to the police, the victim had an acquaintance with the accused for more than 20 years. “He was angry because he had recently stopped talking to her,” he said. Case has been registered and investigation is going on.
