A 33-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband by hitting him on the head with bricks and tiles, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place late Tuesday night at Kurapuzha in Palode, about 38 km from Thiruvananthapuram.
Police said Shiju (37) was found dead at the couple’s house and accused Soumya was taken into custody on Tuesday night itself.
Non-resident Keralite (NRK), Shiju had reached home 10 days back.
“His arrest has been registered this afternoon. He has confessed to his crime, but the exact reason is yet to be revealed,” an investigating officer said.
After the crime, the woman allegedly ran out of the house crying out loud that she had killed her husband, following which local residents rushed to the spot to find the man dead, police said.
Local media reported that Saumya suspected that Shiju was having an illicit relationship with another woman, due to which she took this step.
The couple has two children.
