A woman along with her live-in partner and two other men has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida for allegedly killing her husband and setting the body on fire to hide evidence, police said on Saturday. .

Officials said the woman, who was separated from her husband in 2018, called the police emergency number on Thursday morning to report the incident and claimed that her husband was set ablaze by unidentified men inside her house.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Amit Kumar said that the incident in Nilauni Mirzapur village of Rabupura police station area was planned by a woman named Neha, who was eyeing her husband Veerpal alias Pappan’s property and money. ,

Kumar said, “During the investigation, it was found that Veerpal was murdered on the night of February 9 itself and the next morning the accused persons had set his body on fire to destroy the evidence.”

“Four persons have been arrested including the man’s wife, his partner Mukesh Kumar and two others – Bhudev Sharma and Rajkumar, who were hired by him for the murder. It was a case of blind murder which has been resolved within 36 hours of reporting.

According to officials, the couple was married in 2008 and had three children – two daughters and a son. A few years back, Neha had an illicit relationship with Mukesh Kumar alias Sonu, a cloth shop owner in Dankaur town, making the matter a gossip issue in their village and frequent quarrels between husband and wife. . , officials said.

In 2018, Neha and her two children started living with Mukesh in Dankaur town, while a daughter started living with Veerpal, officials said.

Apart from the house in Nilauni Mirzapur, Virpal also had a property in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh, while some of his land near Greater Noida was acquired by the local Yamuna Expressway authority, for which he was soon going to get some money, he said.

The woman came to know that Veerpal was on his way out of his house on February 9 for a family function. The officer said that he and his accomplices reached Veerpal’s house around 9 pm and hid in the basement of the building.
