Woman taken to hospital in Madhya Pradesh gives birth to triplets in an ambulance

Raisen: A 24-year-old woman delivered triplets in an ambulance while being taken to a hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district, an official said. Jyoti Bai of Piplia Goli village was first taken to Goharganj Primary Health Center on Friday evening after complaining of stomach pain. However, as his condition worsened, the health center asked him to be sent by the government’s 108 ambulance service to the state-run Sultania Hospital in Bhopal, the official said.

Dr Sandeep Maran, who accompanied the woman in the ambulance, said she went into labor during the journey and gave birth to triplets near Mandideep, about 20 km from the state capital.

Maran said the mother and her three newborn boys were taken to Sultania Hospital, all are healthy and are being monitored by doctors.
