A dog owner in the UK was left devastated after her beloved pet was mauled to death by a “pitbull-like” dog outside her home. BBC, The attack happened on Monday in Camberwell, south London, when the woman stepped out of her house with her pet dog Rocky, a Chihuahua-Russell mix. The outlet said the family immediately took the dog to a vet, who told them Rocky had a broken spine and a punctured lung. The dog died shortly after midnight that night.
The owner, who did not wish to be named, claims the dogs that attacked Rocky “for no reason” left him with fatal wounds.
A video posted by the woman to Instagram shows a man grabbing “dogs like pitbulls” by the collar and dragging them away from the scene before running off after the attack.
“One of the dogs lunged towards Rocky and grabbed him from behind,” the woman said. BBC,
He said that he and his father tried to pull the dog away but it kept on thrashing badly for 10-15 seconds.
“When Rocky was lying on the floor covered in blood, he pulled the dog and walked away quickly,” the woman said, adding, “I sat down beside him and cried.”
Rocky’s owner contacted police with a statement and information about what happened, but claims he has yet to hear back from them.
She said, “I just want justice for Rocky. He was more than a dog, he was the baby of our family. He was only a year and a half old, he had a lot more left in him.” BBC,
She has also made an appeal on social media to try to get “justice” for the dogs and their owner.
