Maharashtra beat Haryana 2-1 in the penalty shootout, while Madhya Pradesh beat Jharkhand 2-0 in their respective semi-finals
Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Madhya Pradesh reached the finals of the 13th Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championship 2023 at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh after winning their respective semi-final bouts.
Hockey Maharashtra defeated Hockey Haryana 2-1 in the penalty shootout to enter the final. Hockey Haryana took the lead after Devika Sen (18′) converted a penalty corner. In reply, Player of the Match Bhawna Khade (43′) scored the equalizer for Hockey Maharashtra as the game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

H Lalruatfeli and Akanksha Singh scored goals in the shootout to give Hockey Maharashtra their second shootout win in the knockout stage and seal their place in the final. After receiving her award, Bhavna said, “It is unbelievable that we are playing in the finals after beating some tough teams along the way.” The determination to win the championship is strong,” he said.
Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Hockey Jharkhand 2-0 in the second semi-final. The two teams were at odds throughout the game but Karishma Singh (56′) and Diksha Tiwari (58′) stepped into the final embers of the game to seal the contest and seal their way into the final.
“It was one of the tightest games we have ever played in the championship, and it really tested our nerves, but the team held together because we believed we could win this game. We believed we could. Can win the trophy tomorrow as well,” said player of the match Karishma Yadav.

When asked about her award, she said, “It feels great to be recognized for my performance, but I couldn’t have done it without my teammates.”
In the final, Hockey Madhya Pradesh will take on Hockey Maharashtra tomorrow at 15.00 PM while Hockey Haryana will take on Hockey Jharkhand at 09.00 PM in the 3rd/4th place match.
