Speaking to News18, Punjab BJP chief Ashwini Sharma, while weighing in on speculations that he will not respond to hypothetical scenarios, believes that the captain is a leader of high stature who has played a long political innings. Sharma says that the BJP has always welcomed his nationalist statements made in the interest of Punjab.
