World Environment Day 2022: This day is celebrated to raise awareness about the need to protect our environment and to create a platform for collection action to conserve nature.
World Environment Day 2022: This year’s World Environment Day theme calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
The first World Environment Day was organized in 1973 and since then it is celebrated every year on 5th June. The day is celebrated to raise awareness about the need to protect our environment and to create a platform for collection action to conserve nature.
Every year there is a different theme which is used to celebrate this day. The theme of this year’s event is Only One Earth, which was used at the first global environmental conference held in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972. According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), this year’s theme calls for collective, transformative action. A global scale to celebrate, preserve and restore our planet.
It will focus on the importance of living sustainably and at peace with nature. Planting trees, reducing carbon footprint, changing food habits and cleaning rivers and banks has become very important to save our environment.
