India ranks 125th on the list of 136 countries, making it one of the least happy countries worldwide.

Finland has been ranked as the happiest country in the world in the latest World Happiness Report released by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The report, released every year on the International Day of Happiness, ranks countries on the basis of happiness based on data from the previous three years of their average life ratings.

The report is a comprehensive study that aims to measure and understand the factors that contribute to human well-being and happiness around the world. It is based on data collected from surveys conducted in different countries, and covers a range of topics including social interaction, trust and mental health. The 2023 edition of the World Happiness Report focuses on the theme of ‘Trust and social connection in times of crisis’. The report examines how trust and social relationships have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and how these factors have greatly affected people’s well-being and happiness.

According to the report, Denmark ranks second, followed by Iceland at number three; Israel and the Netherlands are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. The top ten countries in the ranking were located in Europe, with New Zealand being the only non-European country to make the top 10 list. The ranking uses 6 main factors to measure happiness, including social support, freedom, generosity, income, health, and absence of corruption.

The report states that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the lives and happiness of people. The pandemic has increased anxiety and depression levels, as well as increased social and economic stress. The report also highlights the resilience of people around the world and the ways communities are coming together to support each other during this challenging time.

India ranks 125th on the list of 136 countries, making it one of the least happy countries worldwide. Surprisingly, it lags behind even its neighbors such as Nepal (78th), China (64th), Bangladesh (118th), Pakistan (108th) and Sri Lanka (112th). At the bottom of the World Happiness Report Afghanistan Ranked 137th.

In addition to promoting well-being and happiness, the report stresses the need for governments to prioritize the well-being of their citizens and take steps to ensure that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
