Vaccines act as a shield against diseases like diphtheria, polio, tetanus, tuberculosis etc. In the past two decades, vaccination programs have substantially changed the health landscape of many countries.

To raise awareness about the value of vaccines and immunizations around the world, the World Health Organization celebrates World Immunization Week in the last week of April. It not only draws attention to the need for vaccines, but also appreciates the collective efforts of all communities to combat deadly diseases.
