World Mental Health Day: Date, History Theme, Significance

New Delhi: Over the years, there has been a gradual increase in the discussion about mental health. When the pandemic hit the country, the most important concern besides physical health was mental health. People were sitting at home without work and this made the situation worse. Some of them even committed suicide. There was a dramatic increase in the number of people going through depression, anxiety and many other mental illnesses.

While in the past it was a taboo to discuss the issue, now people have become self-aware and sensitive towards mental health. Things have changed for the good. World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October to recognize this issue.
