Market research firm’s latest report IDC found out that around the world tablet shipment Reached 40.5 million units during the second quarter of 2022 (2Q22.). As per the latest data, the total tablet shipments reached a growth of 0.15 percent year-on-year. On the other hand, Korombuk saw another slowdown with declining shipments. The report said that shipments declined by 51.4 percent in the second quarter of 2022 with 6 million units worldwide.
Reasons for growth in tablet shipments

Chromebook shipments continued to decline 51.4% year-on-year to 6 million units in 2Q22, the IDC report said. The decline was expected as inventory buildup is still being cleared and demand in the education sector has slowed.
“While Chromebook shipments have declined over the past few quarters, there is still opportunity as the pandemic drives positive changes in Chrome adoption. The distance learning accelerated schools plan is needed to reach a 1:1 ratio for PC students and This ratio is likely to continue in the future and even if PC shipments decline in other categories, Chrome will continue to remain at these higher levels,” the report said.
Top Five Chromebook Companies
Dell leads the Chromebook segment with 25.5% market share. On the other hand, Acer and Lenovo grabbed the second and third positions with 22.6% and 19.4% market share respectively. HP has occupied the fourth position with 15.6% market share and Samsung is at the fifth position with 6.2% market share.
