Yamaha Tenere 900 could be offered globally

The Yamaha Tenere 900 will be powered by the 890 cc, triple-cylinder engine of the Yamaha MT-09. Like the Tenere 700, there are no plans for a launch in India just yet.

But now, reports in Europe point to the development of a bigger and more powerful version of the Yamaha Tenor adventure motorcycle. The Yamaha Tenere 700 is seen as more off-road focused, and not road-oriented as many riders prefer. Also, Yamaha is eyeing the new bike with a 900 cc adventure touring capability, more performance and better all-round capability.

Prior to this, Yamaha had both the mid-size and high-end ADV segment in the Tenere range, with the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere. According to a report by French publication Moto Station, the new Tenor 900 may have more real-world versatility than the Tenor 700.
