Yamaha Motor India has increased the prices of all the variants of the recently launched YZF-R15 V4. This is the first price hike on the motorcycle since its launch in September this year, and the bike is now priced at over ₹3,000 across the range. NS Yamaha R15 V4 Now starts at ₹ 171 Lakh for the Metallic Red shade, and goes up to ₹ 1.83 Lakh for the R15M Monster Energy MotoGP variant. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The price hike is a muted one and the company has not officially shared the details as to what led to the hike. Compared to the V3, the R15 V4 was already priced at a premium of ₹10,200.

The Yamaha R15 V4 is one of the best entry-level performance motorcycles out there, despite having a 155 cc offering. The latest upgrade makes it a far better offering than before. The V4 iteration brings in the YZF-R7 inspired design language along with aggressive new front styling. There is also a segment-first list of features like traction control, quickshifter, assist and slipper clutch and standard dual-channel ABS on the R15M. The bike has also been upgraded from a telescopic unit to USD front forks.

Yamaha R15M comes with more aesthetic changes

Power continues to come from the same 155cc, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). Though the power figures have dropped slightly from the V3, the motor is developing 18.1 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The more expensive R15M further gives a visual boost to the motorcycle with golden brake calipers, anodized blue fork caps, carbon-like seat cover material and embossed logo on the rear seat. The Yamaha R15 V4 competes with the KTM RC 200 in this segment.
