Yamaha YZF-R7 and MT-09 Premium Motorcycles Tees: Card to be launched in India? – times of India

YAMAHA Motor India has started a new campaign called ‘The Call of the Blue’ and the company has also released a new TVC for the same. The 1:30 minute long video covers all Yamaha scooters and motorcycles available in India, including: Fascino 125 Hybrid, FZ-X, FZ-S, R15 V4 etc. However, TVC also shows two motorcycles that are currently not on sale in India.
The two new motorcycles that will be part of The Call of the Blue TVC include the YZF-R7 and MT-09 premium bikes. Though the manufacturer has not revealed any date, we believe that this could be a hint at their Indian launch. If so, the YZF-R7 and MT-09 could become Yamaha’s first two premium performance bikes in the BS6 era.

Powering the exotic-spec YZF-R7 super sport bike is a 689 cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC inline twin-cylinder engine that churns out 73.4 PS of maximum power and 67 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the MT-09 is a naked street fighter that is powered by an 847 cc, 3-cylinder motor that makes 84.6 PS power and 87.5 Nm torque. Both bikes get a 6-speed gearbox.
Yamaha is yet to confirm the launch of any motorcycle in India. last iteration of Yamaha MT-09 It was priced at Rs 10.64 lakh in India, however, the new variant will definitely be more expensive than this. Meanwhile, the YZF-R7 Super Sport is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
