Yash Dhul led India to the U19 World Cup title earlier this year and has been getting stronger ever since. He made his Ranji Trophy debut in the Elite Group H match for Delhi vs Tamil Nadu in Guwahati, and immediately announced himself with a scintillating century. On Sunday, the young right-handed batsman joined an elite list of batsmen who have scored centuries in each innings in their Ranji Trophy debut. Nari Contractor achieved this feat while playing for Gujarat, while Maharashtra’s Virag Awate was the second player to do so.

Yash Dhul scored 113 runs in the first innings against Tamil Nadu. Incidentally, he remained unbeaten on the same score in the second innings when the match ended in a draw.
In the first innings, Dhul, who opened the innings for Delhi, scored 113 runs in 150 balls including 18 fours before the dismissal of M Mohammad.
His teammate Lalit Yadav scored 177 runs, an innings that included 17 fours and 10 sixes, as Delhi scored 452 in the first essay.
However, both Dhul and Lalit Yadav were defeated by a blitzkrieg from Shah Rukh Khan, who scored 194 off just 148 balls, as Tamil Nadu scored 494 to take a 42-run lead.
Delhi completely dominated in the second innings as Yash Dhull and his opening partner Dhruv Shourie minced the Tamil Nadu batsmen.

Both the players remained unbeaten as Delhi scored 228 runs. Dhul scored an unbeaten 113 while Shourie remained unbeaten on 107.
Dhul will also be seen in IPL 2022 after he was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 50 lakh in the IPL mega auction.
