Yemeni leader: We are following ceasefire despite Houthi violations – Henry Club

RIYADH: The chairman of Yemen’s leadership council has said his government is respecting the ceasefire in the country despite the Houthi militia’s defiance.

Rashad al-Alimi said: “We reaffirm our adherence to the ceasefire, despite all violations by the Houthi militia.”

He said his council would uphold consensus and partnership to help the country.

Al-Alimi also thanked Saudi Arabia and the UAE for their support of the Yemeni people.

The two-month ceasefire that began at the start of Ramadan has been repeatedly violated by Iran-backed militias, particularly in Marib where they are using the fighting halts to gain strategic military advantage as they aim to gain resources. To take – Prosperous provinces under government control.

The Houthis gather more forces outside Yemen’s Marib city as the Houthis fight outside Marib, mounting new attacks.
