Yes Bank-DHFL fraud case: CBI raids properties of 3 prominent builders in Mumbai, Pune. Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the premises of businessmen on Saturday. Vinod Goenka, Shahid Balwa, Avinash Bhosle Along with few others in Mumbai and Pune in Yes Bank-DHFL fraud case.
The CBI searched eight premises, including the residences and offices of Goenka, Balwa and Bhosale.
In this case, the CBI on Thursday arrested Sanjay Chhabria, the builder of Radius Group. The court on Friday sent Chhabria to CBI custody till May 6.
The CBI probed a fraud case where Yes Bank, led by Rana Kapoor, had sanctioned loans to DHFL Group in 2018. DHFL promoters Kapil Wadhawan and his brother Dheeraj with the help of others embezzled money and defaulted on Yes Bank loan payments.
Earlier, the CBI had filed a chargesheet against the Wadhawan brothers, Rana Kapoor and their family members in the case.
The CBI is now probing the role of others involved in the case.
Sources said that after Chhabria’s arrest in the case, the CBI is probing the role of Goenka, Shahid Balwa and Avinash Bhosle in the case. The CBI probed whether he had suspicious transactions with Wadhawan controlled companies and Chhabria.
The CBI said that during its investigation, Chhabria’s criminal involvement came to the fore and it has been learned that soon after Yes Bank’s investment of Rs 2,700 crore in DHFL in the first week of June 2018, DHFL made investments of Rs 1,100 crore and Rs 900 crore. Loan appraised and approved. Cr. to Radius Estate Projects and Sumer Radius Realty. Chhabria had control over both the companies.
It is alleged that Kapil Wadhawan also disbursed Rs 416 crore to Radius Estates and Developers without any appraisal or risk assessment.
