2022 Yezdi motorcycle range launched with three new models
Classic Legends, part of the Mahindra Group, and parent company Jawa Motorcycleshas revived the Yezdi brand, introducing three new models under the Yezdi name. The Yezdi Adventure, Scrambler and Roadster will be sold at the same dealership as Jawa Motorcycles. Prices start at ₹ 1.98 Lakh for the Yezdi range, starting with the Yezdi Roadster, going up to ₹ 2.19 Lakh for the range-topping variant of the Yezdi Adventure. All three bikes are built on dual cradle chassis and 334 cc engine, but individual changes have been made on each motorcycle to suit the purpose-built character of each model. The Yezdi brand is positioned as a more youthful alternative to Jawa motorcycles and also packs more power, more features and an attractive design.

The Yezdi Adventure is positioned as an entry-level adventure motorcycle and gets a rounded headlamp, simple panels and a tall stance with stepped seats. The Adventure gets a shorter windshield, longer and wider handlebars for carrying luggage or extra fuel cans, and additional frame brackets on the fuel tank and tail section. In addition to this, the bike comes with long travel telescopic forks with 200 mm of travel and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear with 180 mm of travel. The bike gets a single sided exhaust while the ground clearance is 220 mm. It is the only Yezdi model to get monoshock rear suspension and single-sided exhaust.
The Yezdi Adventure is the only model to feature a tilt-adjustable LCD instrument console, and also Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation via a dedicated mobile app.
The Yezdi Adventure comes with a tilt-adjustable digital instrument console that includes a tripmeter, distance to empty indicator, range, time, ABS mode and gear indicator. The unit also comes with Bluetooth connectivity and offers turn-by-turn navigation through the Yezdi app. The app also brings features like call and message alerts, vehicle analytics and owner profile.

The Yezdi Adventure rides on 21-inch front wheels, and 17-inch rear wheel combination wire spoke wheels with long travel suspension and 220 mm of ground clearance.

The Adventure rides on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear combination of wire spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres, while the fuel tank capacity is 15.5 liters. Power on the bike comes from a 334 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 29.8 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 29.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. On the Adventure, the engine is tuned for higher power at revs, while peak torque is also higher but falls lower in the rev range for better tractability. The bike comes with three ABS modes – Road, Off-Road and Rain.
The Yezdi Scrambler sports a stripped-down, minimalistic design with a chopped tail section.
Going forward, the Yezdi Scrambler promises a fun offering and will be one of the accessible scramblers for sale in the country. With rounded headlamps, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and chrome-finished dual exhausts, the bike retains the classic look but looks minimalist and stripped-down. The Scrambler comes with knee pads, a ribbed seat and a slanted tail section and a different rear subframe. It rides on a combination of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire spoke wheels and uses a 12.5-litre fuel tank. The telescopic front forks come with 150mm of travel, while the gas-charged dual shocks come with 130mm of travel.
The Scrambler is the lightest, and has the shortest wheelbase, getting more suspension travel and ground clearance than the Roadster, but less than the Adventure.

On the Scrambler, the 334 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine is tuned to make 28.7 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 28.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm. The Scrambler has a curb weight of 182 kg and a ground clearance of 200 mm. The motorcycle gets an offset round LCD display with LED headlamps and taillight, clear lens LED indicators as well as handlebar-mounted USB and Type C charging points, which are also offered on the Adventure. Yezdi Scrambler price starts at ₹ 2.05 Lakh, goes up to ₹ 2.11 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
The Yezdi Roadster is the most affordable model in the Yezdi motorcycle range, and is closest to the original Yezdi stance and silhouette in terms of design.

The Yezdi Roadster is the most affordable model in the Yezdi motorcycle range, and is also the closest in design to the original Yezdi motorcycles of the 1970s. Both the Scrambler and the Roadster share the same single-pod instrument console. The roadster is designed for daily use, daily commute and short dash, and the engine is tuned to make 29.3 bhp at 7,300 rpm and 29 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The Roadster has a curb weight of 184kg, and comes with the most number of color options, including blacked out “dark” color scheme. Prices range from ₹ 1.98 Lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹ 2.06 Lakh (ex-showroom). Booking and delivery are currently available at all Jawa-Yazdi dealerships across India.
