Yogi Adityanath’s ‘80% vs 20%’ remark: No room for real issues in UP polls?

After Yogi Adityanath said it would be an “80 per cent versus 20 per cent” election in Uttar Pradesh and the BJP would retain power in the state, several opposition leaders attacked the CM over his comments. He alleged that it was an attempt to polarize by the “80-20” reference, intended to indicate the proportion of Hindus and Muslims in Uttar Pradesh.

So should the Election Commission focus on 80-20 politics? Are all parties fighting for Hindu votes? No place for real issues in UP elections?
