Impressed by a crowd that thronged to see PM Modi’s grand welcome at the Indian Diaspora event in Copenhagen on Tuesday, his Danish counterpart Mette Fredriksen also asked Indians to teach the Danish people how to receive the politician.
Speaking at the Indian community event in Copenhagen, Danish PM Mette Fredriksen thanked everyone and said, “I must say you really know how to welcome a politician… Teach.”
“It is a great pleasure to be here with you today. I am very honored that we are able to welcome you, my friend, Prime Minister Modi to Denmark. Once again, welcome! I am very happy too That we are with you all. This afternoon,” she said.
“I think together today we show how strong ties we have – of friendship, of families. It is all not least because of all of you. All the Indians living in Denmark and working in Denmark Thank you, making a real positive contribution to Danish society. Thank you all,” Fredrickson said.
Addressing the Indian community, PM Modi also said that all Indians stand together to protect the nation and join hands in nation building.
“Inclusiveness and cultural diversity is the power of the Indian community, which makes us all feel alive every moment. Thousands of years of time have instilled these values within us,” Modi said during his address.
Amidst slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’ in the auditorium with his Danish counterpart, the Prime Minister also said that an Indian, wherever he goes in the world, contributes sincerely. ‘Karmabhoomi’ (the land of work), for that country.
“Prime Minister Frederickson’s being here today is a testament to the love and respect he has for Indians,” he said.
