Chennai:
A 21-year-old man died of burn injuries after accidentally falling into a pan of hot rasam in neighboring Tiruvallur district, police said on Monday.
The victim, a college student, worked part-time in a catering firm. He said he was serving food to guests at a wedding function last week when the incident happened.
The man fell into the cauldron in which the boiling rasam was to be served to the guests.
The seriously burnt victim has been admitted to the city government hospital. He died on Sunday due to lack of treatment.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, he said.
