Yuji Chahal reveals first conversation with Dhoni
Team India’s spinner Yuji Chahal is doing poorly in the current T20 series against Africa. His two mediocre performances have taken results South Africa’s way. Great things were expected from the leg-spinner as he bagged the Purple Cap this year IPL But it seems the Rajasthan Royals legend has hit a bad patch and would like to get out of it before India go into the T20 World Cup later this year.
The star player of Team India recently opened up about his first conversation with M S Dhoni And says how amazed he was to see the down-to-earth nature of Captain Cool. Yuzi Chahal received his ODI cap from Dhoni on the Zimbabwe tour and was later given a run to make it to Team India in the T20Is against England.
“I got my ODI cap from the great MS Dhoni. He is the great player of the game and I was with him for the first time. I was not even able to talk in front of him. He talks very well from the ground up that surprises you Is he Mahendra Singh Dhoni. When I met him in Zimbabwe for the first time I used to call him Mahi sir. After a while, he called me and said, ‘Mahi, Dhoni, Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Bhai, Yuji Chahal’ Revealed in one of his interviews, Call me whatever you want but not Sir. Chahal took 27 wickets in the Indian Premier League with the best figures of 5/40.
