Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he will no longer insist on NATO membership. However, Zelensky blamed NATO for this, saying that the organization was afraid of upsetting Russia, and was unwilling to accept Ukraine. It may be recalled that the proposal for NATO membership is one of the major reasons why Russia has gone to war with Ukraine. Zelensky also said that he was ready to discuss the situation in the pro-Russian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.
