As Deadline reports, the sports romance drama film, whose production will begin later this year, is based on Justin Kuritzke’s 2021 Blacklist script.

The story follows Tashi (Zendaya), a tennis player-turned-coach, who takes on her husband, Art (Fast), and turns him from an average player into a world-renowned Grand Slam champion.

To get him out of his recent losing streak, she plays him a “challenger” event—close to the lowest level of the tournament on the Pro Tour—where he finds himself standing at the net from the once promising, now charred Is. Patrick (O’Connor): Her former best friend and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend.

The project is being produced by Amy Pascal and her Pascal Pictures banner, as well as Zendaya and Guadagnino.

Zendaya, who starred in the 2021 blockbusters “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Dune,” is currently starring in the HBO series “Euphoria.”

O’Connor, the Emmy-winning star of Netflix’s royal drama “The Crown,” will next appear in “Lea” alongside Kate Winslet and co-star Paul Mescal in “The History of Sound.”

Faust recently debuted with his role as Riff in Steven Spielberg’s musical “West Side Story.”
