ZIM vs IND: India to tour Zimbabwe for the first time in 6 years for 3-match ODI series in August

Team India will tour Zimbabwe for the first time in six years for a three-match ODI series in August.

Matches will take place in Harare on 18, 20 and 22 August, Zimbabwe Cricket announced. It is expected that top-order batsman KL Rahul will lead the Indian team.

The ODI series is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, a 13-team competition that serves as the main route for direct qualification for the 50-over World Cup to be held in India next year.

Zimbabwe are currently ranked 12th in a 13-team pool with just three wins from 15 matches.

India are currently high on confidence as the Rohit Sharma-led side finished England with a 2-1 margin with series wins in T20Is and ODIs. Under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan, India reached Trinidad for the three-match ODI series against West Indies.

After the ODI series, a five-match T20 series will be played between India and West Indies. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team. The limited overs series will be held from July 22 to August 7.

Zimbabwe will welcome Bangladesh for three T20Is from July 30 before hosting India for a three-match ODI series.
