A zipline facility was inaugurated at the Raja seat garden in Madikeri, one of the favorite tourist destinations visiting Kodagu.

The addition of adventure sports facility like zipline is expected to add to the attraction of Raja Seat.

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner BC Satheesha and Kodagu District Police Additional Superintendent KS Sundar Raj inaugurated the zipline ride at the adventure sports facility on Tuesday. Zipline ride through which participants can slide with a harness up to 310 meters.

Mr. Satheesha urged the officials to pay adequate attention to the safety aspects and obtain a certificate from the General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure. He directed the officers of the Horticulture Department to ensure full compliance of the guidelines issued by the Academy for the practice of adventure sports.

HR Nayak, deputy director of the horticulture department, said the zipline facility would be operated in partnership with a Bengaluru-based private player, who would manage the facility for the next five years. The cost of each ride is ₹300. Senior officers of the Horticulture Department and engineers of the manufacturing center were present on the occasion.
