Zomato Award Delivery Man Who Traveled 12 Kms To Get Medicines For Sick Baby

Zomato has recognized the services of a delivery agent who faced heavy rain to bring medicines to a sick baby. Jitin Vijayan, a Zomato delivery agent from Kochi, Kerala, covered a distance of about 12 kms in the rain to get medicines for a baby.

While delivering one of his orders late at night, Jitin Vijayan learned that the order was for a sick woman with a one-year-old baby.

Seeing the sick child, Jitin Vijayan traveled 12 kilometers to get medicine for the child. Jitin Vijayan’s work beyond his duty has earned him the Zomato Gallantry Award.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, Zomato said that the Gallantry Awards recognize the important role that delivery partners play in its operations.

Zomato named the award recipients as, “Out of all the inspiring stories we found, these are those who are committed to serving people beyond their work ethic and call of duty.”

Jithin Vijayan was recognized for helping the woman with a sick child. Along with Jitin Vijayan, another Zomato delivery agent, Shivaji Balaji Pawar, was recognized for ‘Going Above and Beyond’.

“Being born with a polio infection hasn’t deterred Shivaji from playing top-class cricket,” Zomato commented.
