Elderly man killed, 10 injured in bee swarm in Telangana

Karimnagar, Telangana:

An elderly man was killed and 10 others injured in a bee swarm attack in Telangana’s Jagtial district on Tuesday.

According to the police, around 20 families had gathered on the outskirts of Rechpalli village under Sarangpur police limits to celebrate the traditional festival.

Police Inspector J Ramakrishna said, “While they were busy with the ceremony, suddenly a swarm of bees came out and bitten some of them.”

Reachpally resident G Bhimaiah (80) was killed and around 10 others were injured in the bee attack, police said.

The injured have been admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital in Jagtial, where their condition is said to be stable, police said.
