10 crore women got toilets, 4 crore houses got electricity in last seven years: Shah

Highlighting the government’s efforts for the welfare of the underprivileged, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that in the last seven years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Center, 10 crore women have been provided toilets and four has been done. Electricity has now reached crores of homes.

Addressing the foundation day program of the 28th National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Shah said, “In the last seven years, around 60 crore underprivileged people have been taken care of through government schemes, he felt confident that for them Some have. 10 crore women toilets have been provided, about four crore houses have been electrified.”

The Union Minister further said that two crore people have been provided houses.

Shah said the Prime Minister-led government has ensured protection of human rights of 60 crore underprivileged population.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also presided over the program. Justice Arun Kumar Mishra (Chairman of National Human Rights Commission of India) also participated in the programme.

According to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office, the NHRC was set up under the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 on October 12, 1993, for the promotion and protection of human rights.

The commission takes cognizance of any violation of human rights, inquires and recommends to the public authorities for payment of compensation to the victims in cases of violation of human rights, other remedial and legal remedies against wrongful public servants.
