Pune-based Bharat Forge Limited on November 9 announced that it has won an export order worth $155.50 million to execute one of its 155mm artillery gun platform in three years.

“We are pleased to inform that Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has been awarded an export order for the 155 mm Artillery Gun Platform to be executed in a time frame of 3 years. The total value of the order is $155.50 million,” the company informed in a notification to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

“This order for a non-conflict zone is a great testament to the self-reliant India agenda of the Government of India and promotion of export of Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured (IDDM) Advanced Defense Platforms from India,” the statement said. “

Bharat Forge, which has greatly diversified into defense manufacturing over the years, has developed a range of products including a range of Artillery Guns. While it has sold 60 of its Kalyani-M4 armored vehicles to the Indian Army on 30 more orders, it is yet to receive domestic orders for its artillery guns.
