Assam Police on Friday arrested two fake CBI officers in Karimganj district.

Assam Police on Friday arrested two persons in Karimganj district for allegedly extorting money posing as CBI officers.
The arrested people have been identified as Dilwar Hussain and Rashid Ahmed.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Karimganj district, Partha Pratim Das said that on August 18, he had received a complaint from a trader of Patharkandi area.
“The businessman had received an extortion call and the person who impersonated himself as a CBI officer had demanded Rs 2 lakh. We immediately tracked the mobile phone number and started an operation and found two persons Dilwar. Hussain and Rashid Ahmed. Rashid Ahmed had used Dilwar Hussain’s mobile phone and posed as a CBI officer,” Mr. Das said.
Police have registered a case against both. Further investigation is being done.
