2018 Australian woman murder: Indian man with $1 million reward arrested by Delhi Police

New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Friday (November 25) arrested an accused in the murder of an Australian woman in Queensland in 2018. Queensland Police took to Twitter to confirm the arrest of Rajwinder Singh, who is accused of murdering Toyah Cordingley in 2018. The accused was nabbed with the help of intelligence inputs in a joint operation with CBI, Interpol and a special cell.

“We can confirm that a man has been arrested in India today following a significant investigation into the tragic death of Toyah Cordingley in Far North Queensland in 2018,” Queensland Police wrote.

Earlier this month, the Queensland Police had offered the world’s largest reward of 1 million Australian dollars for the information leading to Singh’s whereabouts. On November 3, 2022 Australian High Court in India, Barry O’Farrell AO announced a reward of AUD 1 million (or approximately Rs 531 lakh) by the Queensland Government for information leading to the location and arrest of Rajwinder Singh, who was desired. In relation to the murder of one Toyah Cordingley in 2018.

Singh, an Indian-origin nurse, was accused of murdering 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley in Far North Queensland. The accused killed the woman when she went to the beach to walk her dog. According to media reports, the accused went to Australia after the murder leaving his wife and three children.
