Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is all set to launch a new generation Tucson Tomorrow in the Indian market, ie 13th July. While the Korean manufacturer hasn’t revealed much details about the India-spec model, however, the updated SUV is already on sale in overseas markets which helps us know what 2022 will be like. The new generation Tucson will be based on the company’s sensitive sportiness design language and will feature complete design changes over the current model. Up front, the upcoming Tucson gets a large grille that extends across the nose of the car, and also gets triangular LED DRLs. At the rear, the T-shaped tail lights are linked together by an LED strip, the Hyundai emblem placed on the lower part of the rear windshield.
Features likely to be offered with the 2022 Tucson include a new 10.25-inch full-digital instrument cluster, a similarly sized touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front row ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera shall include. An electronic parking brake, auto-dimming IRVM, keyless entry and exit, etc.
New Tucson Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking with forward collision avoidance can also be found.
The 2022 Tucson will be powered by the same 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 152 PS and 192 Nm, as well as the 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 185 PS of maximum power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are expected to be offered with an automatic transmission only, along with an optional 4WD configuration on the top-end trim.
The Hyundai updated Tucson price could range from around Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the new Hyundai SUV will rival premium mid-size SUVs like the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, as well as the Volkswagen Tiguan.
