The second generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza has finally been launched and the subcompact SUV comes with a host of upgrades. The model has now dropped the ‘Vitara’ name and will be sold only as Brezza. 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza prices start at ₹ 7.99 Lakh, going up to ₹ 13.96 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The subcompact SUV gets an evolutionary design language and looks sharp with wider chrome grille, dual-pod LED headlamps, wraparound LED taillights and large quarter glass in the D-pillar. The new Brezza also gets a redesigned tailgate and new bumpers to complete the look.

The new Brezza gets a revamped interiors with a dual-tone cabin. The model gets a dual-pod instrument cluster with a MID unit at the centre, and also features a heads-up display. There’s also a multi-function, flat-bottom steering wheel and a new floating touchscreen infotainment display that drives Maruti’s new SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with connected car technology. Other notable additions include a 360-degree camera, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and more. The SUV is offered in six color options – Pearl Arctic White, Exuberant Blue, Magma Grey, Brave Khakhi, Sizzling Red, and Splendid Silver, and the latter three are also available in dual-tone color options. The Brave Khakhi is available with a white roof while the other two options come with an optional black roof.
Power comes from the new generation 1.5-litre K-Series DualJet petrol engine. This is the same motor that also powers the Ertiga and the motor develops 102 bhp and 135 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with a mild-hybrid system that aims to improve efficiency. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the 4-speed automatic on the SUV is replaced by a new 6-speed torque converter with paddle shifters.

The subcompact SUV segment is extremely competitive and the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza goes up against a host of offerings including Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonnet, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and the current segment leader Tata Nexon. Maruti Suzuki also announced that in the last 8 days since the company started the pre-bookings, it has garnered over 45,000 bookings.
