QJMotor 600RR hints at a future Benelli Tornado with a slightly bigger engine

Chinese motorcycle brand QJMotor has introduced the 2022 QJMotor 600RR in a comprehensive update to the bike. The 600RR was launched two years ago, and was QJMotor’s first four-cylinder model to use the base of the Benelli TNT600i in a completely unbiased design. The new 2022 QJMotor 600RR brings updates in both styling and technology, including new bodywork and engine updates. More importantly though, the updated QJMotor 600RR could be ready for a future Benelli variant based on the same platform.

The face of the QJMotor 600RR, as well as the winglets certainly seem to be inspired by the Ducati Panigale V4

The redesigned bodywork, especially in red, certainly takes inspiration from Ducati, with Panigale-esque face and slit LED headlights as well as carbon-effect winglets on the sides of the fairing. According to QJMotor, the winglets are also aerodynamically effective, adding 5-6kg of downforce at 150kph, as well as increasing stability at high speeds. The fuel tank capacity has increased by 1.6 liters to 18 litres, while the tail is 50 mm higher, while the rider’s seat is lowered by 10 mm. Overall, the bike has shed 2kg, but at 213kg, it’s still not a lightweight supersport.

The electronics of the QJMotor 600RR have been updated, along with the updated KYB suspension and Brembo braking system.

A redesigned exhaust system has added to a minor bump in power and torque, with maximum power now claimed at 87.2 bhp at 11,500 rpm and a peak torque of 56 Nm at 10,500 rpm. Other components include non-adjustable KYB upside down front forks and an adjustable monoshock, while braking duties are tackled by dual four-piston radially mounted Brembo calipers and a single two-piston caliper at the rear wheel with standard dual-channel ABS . There are riding modes, traction control and upshift only quickshifter. The bike comes with a 5-inch full color TFT instrument console to toggle between riding modes and traction control levels.

A Benelli variant based on the QjMotor 600RR is rumored to be in development, with a slightly larger engine and different styling.

0 notes

If Qianjiang decides to introduce a Benelli-branded model based on the QJMotor 600RR, it could make its way to India in the future. Rumors suggest that the Benelli version will probably be called the Benelli Tornado 650 with a slightly larger engine based on the same platform, and is currently under development. The styling of the Benelli is likely to be slightly different from the QJMotor 600RR.
