The all-new Triumph Tiger 1200 will be offered in two variants – GT and Rally

After a long wait, 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 has been launched in India. Available in two variants and four trims, the all-new Tiger 1200 prices go up to Rs 19.19 lakh for the GT Pro, Rs 20.69 lakh for the GT Explorer, Rs 20.19 lakh for the Rally Pro and Rs 21.69 lakh for the top. The three-pot mill of the new Tiger 1200 produces 147 Bhp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm.

The Tiger 1200 gets a new 1,160 cc inline three-cylinder engine that makes 147 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. It is a derivative of the same unit that also does the duty on the speed triple. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and uses a shaft drive system with an auxiliary and slipper clutch. The flagship Tiger features 49 mm Showa USD forks at the front and a Showa Semi-Active monoshock unit at the rear. The GT Pro and GT Explorer versions get 200 mm of suspension travel while the Rally and Rally Explorer versions get 220 mm of suspension travel. Braking performance comes from Brembo’s twin 320 mm floating disc brakes.

The Tiger 1200 GT Pro and Rally Pro have 20-litre fuel tanks with a range of up to 400 km, while the Rally Explorer and GT Explorer have 30-litre fuel tanks with a range of up to 600 km. The GT range also runs on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels, with the model being more road-biased. The Rally range gets 21-inch front and 18-inch rear with spoke wheels with long travel suspension. Compared to its predecessor, the new Tiger 1200 is about 25 kg lighter.
